Stop Setting Goals and Acknowledge Results Instead

Get Centered by Deleting the word Goal from your Vocabulary and Doing This Instead....

Throughout the last 60 years, guru after guru have told you that to be successful you’d have to set goal after goal.

The more goals, the happier you’d become. Not only were we supposed to set an infinite amount of goals, but the bigger the goal, the happier we’d be.

You’d miss out without having “goals” that are big and brash.

Remember the book “The Magic of Thinking Big”? According to this book, written over 50 years ago, most everyone makes the mistake of not thinking, well, big enough.

Huge goals!!

Goals for your relationships. Goals for your financial life. Goals for your business. Goals for your wellness.

Goal after goal would be written. We’d be drowning in goals. But something didn’t feel right.

The more goals we wrote the lower our self esteem became. We knew where we were heading but something felt off. The moment didn’t feel as present as it used to. You’d feel a foot in your past and a foot in your future but joy, in the moment, was sacrificed.

But what if I told you there was a better way.

That goals have lost their power over the years and that a better way grounded in the moment is being used right now by the most successful people to maintain not only a high level of success, but their sanity.

The word goal is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as:

“An object of a ambition or effort. An aim, or desired result.”

Everyone, being so hell bent on goal seeking and defining, forgot to see how shallow the very definition of goal happens to be.

A goal is nothing more than a general direction when you think about it. There’s nothing specific or controllable about it. In today’s world, just having an “aim” is not enough. We want to be more effective and efficient when pursuing the betterment of the lives of ourselves and communities.

The word goal does nothing to help and we’d do better to delete it from our vocabulary and use the word result instead.

Have Results, Not Goals

A result is defined as a consequence, effect, or outcome of something.

It is specific, clear, and makes you think in the moment.

Use the word Result when thinking about taking steps forward in changing your life for the better. Plus, the word Goal has a lot of negative connotations to it. Use the word Result to bring fresh energy to your personal change management.

The Goal Setting Formula

Current “Goal Setting” philosophies ask you to do away with thinking in the present and to only focus on the future. However, acknowledging your present moment through clearly defining your current results gives you a lot more power in the present to change your direction from that of failure to that of success.

What does it look like in Practice?

If you’re looking for change in an area of your life, don’t write goals, write your current results in that area of your life.

If your income is currently $80,000 a year, that is your current result.

Now dive in deeper.

Ask why you are making $80,000 a year.

In this example, you could come up with the following:

  • I have a good job but am in danger of being comfortable.

  • I don’t have the education to make the promotion.

  • To make more I’ll probably have to start my own business, but I don’t know how.

  • The people I hang out with aren’t supportive of my ideas.

This exercise came up with 4 very clear obstacles to overcome that are creating your specific current results.

Now think of ways to solve those obstacles to change your direction.

Become Experimental: Use the Power of Hypothesis to Steer Your New Future

A Hypothesis is a scientific approach towards solving a problem. The formula usually starts with something to the effect of “If (blank), then (blank) will happen.”

By applying Hypothesis in your results driven approach, you start to become a lot more specific in how you act.

Let’s apply it to the above 4 points.

  1. If I was on edge and didn’t feel comfortable, I’d have more motivation to get the better job.

  2. If I had a bachelors degree, I’d get the promotion and more.

  3. If I knew how to start my own business, I’d earn a lot more money.

  4. If I hung out with more inspiring people, I’d have a lot more confidence when moving forward with my ambition.

Brainstorm Actions from these New Hypotheses Statements

Ask yourself what you can do today to prove your hypotheses.

What are small steps you can take right now.

Reach out to that University about what you can do. Drop that negative friend by blocking his number on your phone.

Your steering your new reality into your present.

By Eliminating the Word “Goal”, Thinking in Terms of Results, Why You Get Those Results, and Creating Hypotheses to Steer Your Mind Towards New Possibilities, You Change Your Future.

Your Guide to How Top Celebrities Use Baths to Relax and Rejuvenate

Your Guide to How Top Celebrities Use Baths to Relax and Rejuvenate

If your daily routine involves tons of panic, deadlines, stress, and anxiety, a hot bath at the end of your day can work like magic to reset and let go.

A Brief History of Bathing

The benefits of bath have been long recognized and studied. In ancient times (and even today) for example, Japanese people would practice the tradition of visiting a Sentō, a public bath, where they wash the emotions of their day off!

Bathing, in many cultures, is seen as a cleansing activity that helps you clean your body along with relieving the stress from your mind. As you stay submerged in warm water for a while, your body unwinds releasing happiness hormones like Serotonin. Having optimal Serotonin levels has been linked to better sleep, better productivity, and better relationships across numerous studies.

The Benefits of Bathing

Now, you probably are aware of many of the countless benefits to taking a hot bath. Some of these amazing benefits include:

  • Reduction in body pain
  • Reduced anxiety and depression
  • Enhanced mindfulness
  • Reduced risk of heart disease
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Improved blood circulation

These are a few of the many benefits you can receive by taking a long bath.

Besides these, there is so much that a good bath can do for an individual and the luxurious feel that it offers is an added perk.

Why Do Celebrities Bathe?

Celebrities need a way to detoxify emotions and reset for a packed day. Their days are loaded with stress and the pressures from being pulled at all different directions. Which is why we wrote this guide. If they can benefit from bathing, you can to. We can learn from their bathing rituals that help maintain their success and vitality amidst their demanding lives.

The following is a guide to how 5 of the most famous celebrities in the world take baths and why.

Emma Watson

“I have a bath every single day of my life. And if I can have two or three - amazing!” says the famous Harry Potter star when asked about her body care routine in an interview.

According to Emma Watson, nothing terrible can ever happen in a bath and so, she always finds time to enjoy her ‘me time’ in a warm bath. Along with being a relaxing and rejuvenating activity of the day, bath time is also a body care routine for Watson. She states that she uses a number of bathing products that helps her skin rejuvenate and stay healthy.

The products used by the Beauty and the Beast star range from bath soaks to sea polishes. She says she likes it if her body is polished and moisturized when she’s still in the bath. So, most of her skincare routine is done in the bathtub. After the bath, she likes to wear a cream deodorant and uses an organic whitening toothpaste to finish the cleansing routine.

Watson is very particular about what she uses for her face and body and she is a fan of everything green and organic. A warm bath, for her, is a natural way to relax, cleanse, and treat her body right.

So, if you think keeping up with skin and body care requires lots of extra effort and time, you can emulate Emma Watson’s idea of efficiency of getting both taken care of while you’re relaxing in a bath!

Gwyneth Paltrow

Bathing Celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow

If you know anything about Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop products, you would know that the actress would be luxurious and high-maintenance when it comes to self-care.

When asked about her night routine, the Iron Man star stated that every night’s ritual helps her get grounded and wash the whole day off. “I take a bath every single night before I go to bed”, the actress told in an interview. She likes to call herself ‘a real bath girl.’

She admits using different kinds of bath salts, oils, and scrubs while she is taking a bath. In another interview, she details her bathing routine saying, “I’ve always kind of mixed my own ‘magic potions’ for the bath, and so I wanted to make them into an actual product. I think there’s just something very healing about like, grains of salt, and all the essential oils. I love aromatherapy.”

By her nighttime routine, you can tell that she is kind of a Zen person and seeks relaxation through a warm bath and skin and body care rituals. For Paltrow, her bath time is what she can never skip and as per her, it is non-negotiable. No matter what is going on in her life, she gets into the warm water and relaxes for that time.

Her bath is also a place for her to do her skincare routine, so, killing two birds with one stone! In all, Gwyneth loves to take a bath as it helps her relax, gives her time for herself, and adds to her self and body care rituals.

Madonna

Bathing Celebrity Madonna

The legendary music star has survived decades in the show business and her game is still perked up, even at the age of 60! Her beauty line MDNA SKIN is another name in the luxury skincare products that are introduced and endorsed by celebrities.

When it comes to celebrities launching their skincare and beauty products, people get very curious about the self-care routines of these celebrities and follow the same.

Madonna seems to know it all well and revealed her relaxing bathing secret to her Instagram followers in 2017. In the video on the social networking platform, she showed off her bathtub filled with soapy water and basil leaves! Yes, basil leaves!

Basil is a herbal plant, known for its anti-inflammatory nature and is considered as an adaptogen by Ayurveda. Basil leaves are known to fight muscle pain and reduce stress. No wonder why Madonna looks so radiant and energetic all the time!

So, next time you’re seeking extra relaxation through a bath, try adding herbal touch to it with basil leaves!

Khloe Kardashian

Bathing Celebrity Khloe Kardashian

Amongst all the famous Kardashians, Khloe is a well-known name in the world of glamour and creates shockwaves in the fashion world with the smallest change in her style or routine.

On her app named Khloe, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star writes about her life, her routines, and everything else that she wants her audience to know. Through the same app, Khloe shared her post-workout routine.

By the looks of it, Khloe is a big fan of soaking herself in the bath after she is done working out. According to her, workout leads to a lack of magnesium in the body. This is the biggest cause of body pain, muscle cramps, inflammation, and joint pain.

She recommends her audience to restock magnesium in the body by soaking in a warm bath that has a decent amount of Epsom salt in it. According to Khloe, the magnesium content in the salts makes up for the lost magnesium in the body after a workout.

That’s some great advice with a scientific reason backing it up! She would know as she has lost a ton of weight but more importantly kept it off.

So, now you know. If your body feels sore after an intense workout, just follow in the footsteps of this Kardashian and soak yourself in a warm bath! You will actually feel relaxed and energetic, and any soreness post-workout will just effortlessly drain away.

Lily Aldridge

Belonging to an English family, Lily states that she has always been the baths and bathrobes kind of person. This is why she has been drawing baths for many years and now finds her greatest relaxation in a good bath. She calls bathing ‘a serious business’.

For Aldridge, the purpose of the bath depends on what she puts in her bathtub. She uses the bath for different purposes like detoxification, muscle relaxing, post-concert refreshment, or just to relax in solitude.

According to her, Epsom salts help you draw the best bath. These salts help her muscles relax and clean her skin of all the toxins.

So, like most other celebrities that we discussed, the glamorous Lily Aldridge also uses her bathtub to relax, treat her sore muscles, and refresh for the next big things of her day!

With these famous celebrities following their bath rituals so religiously, there is no denying the fact that bathing works like magic. It is the best way to relax at the end of a long and tiring day.
